They do not kill. It is as bad for business as the farmer who slaughters his milk-cow, and any thief with a reputation for leaving behind bodies and blood will find it hard to book gigs.

The burglar's share of party XP for monsters slain is obliterated, made null and void. In addition, a burglar incurs XP debt(100*HD) for every life she personally takes.

At Level 6, she may form a gang within the lands of any other character with an established stronghold.

A burglar may award herself an automatic success in any of the following actions, a number of times per day equal to her HD:

Footpads, cutpurses, couriers, and scouts count as ordinary hirelings (2gp/mo), whereas trained thugs and robbers are equivalent to footmen(4gp/mo).

To qualify for automatic profit collections, a gang must have a minimum of 12 hirelings and 6 footmen, led by a burglar of level 6 or greater.

An established gang may siphon anywhere from 0 to 100% of the local area's tax earnings. Negotiation and/or the meting out of an appropriate judicial response is at the discretion of the local lord.
